Jaden Smith stole a bit of his father’s thunder on his 56th birthday.
The son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith shared a video to Instagram on August 25 showing a man putting up a poster that appeared to announce a new musical project from the 26-year-old.
‘2024: A Case Study Of The Long Term Effects Of Young Love. October 18,’ Jaden’s caption simply read, giving no hint as to what the project is.
Many fans assume its the long awaited album they’ve been hoping for but in recent interviews, Jaden has been coy in answering questions about that.
Notably, Jaden shared this personal news on his father’s 56th birthday, during which none of his family – Jaden, Willow Smith or Jada publicly wished him a happy birthday.
If the poster heralds a new Jaden album it would be his first in four years.
He recently sat down for an interview with High Snobiety and was asked if a new album was in the works.
He replied, ‘What album?’ before teasing what fans could expect from his new era of music.
‘I’m just trying to continue the story,’ he explained. ‘That’s really what it comes down to.’
‘This is a case study of the long-term effects of young love. And I’ve been doing my own self-reflecting on everything I’ve gone through in my life.
‘And now, I’m ready to start revealing what I figured out.’
Recently, speculation that Jaden and his girlfriend of four years, Sab Zada had split following him being photographed with French social media influencer Khleopatre.
Dad Will is also exercising his musical chops lately. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air shared a video of him dancing with a man who looks exactly like him.
