WWE returns to Atlanta on October 5 for Bad Blood, live from the State Farm Arena and as of now, we do not have a clear indication of what to expect from the premium live event.
That goes for its top stars, too, including undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes and the Original Tribal Chief himself, Roman Reigns.
Based on what we have seen from WWE television leading up to the event, though, there is an obvious direction things are heading, though.
With that in mind, here are predictions for what one can expect from the WrestleMania 40 main eventers when WWE takes over the ATL.
Cody Rhodes: Hero, Defending Champion
The American Nightmare will enter Bad Blood exactly how he has every premium live event since WrestleMania: the defending undisputed WWE champion. The question is who he will defend against in his hometown of Atlanta.
He has already expressed his desire to square off with Jacob Fatu, a decision that is sure to be met with hesitancy by Solo Sikoa as he further seeks to control The Bloodline and its narrative.
Either way, Rhodes has been at the center of the event’s marketing and advertising dating back months, to the initial airing of his vignettes with rapper Metro Boomin.
It will be interesting to see, before then, if he legitimately wants to fight Fatu or if his insistence was a bit of manipulation meant to drive a wedge in the Bloodline when Sikoa and his growing ego inevitably denies that request in favor of his own title rematch.
Roman Reigns: The Avenger
The last time we saw the OTC, he was beaten down and driven through a table by the New Bloodline, the numbers game too great for even him to overcome a third straight time.
There is no show more apropos for him to return at and avenge that beatdown than Bad Blood, where he will make like SummerSlam and cost someone in this new incarnation of his creation a championship opportunity.
Reigns laying waste to his attackers and, again, assisting Rhodes while still leaving no doubt that there is still unfinished business between them.
Yes, it will feel repetitive to an extent, what with how SummerSlam concluded, but fans in Atlanta will eat it up. If we get the return of Jimmy Uso along the way as backup for Reigns, who will now know that he cannot go it alone, even better.
