Triple H has reacted to comments made by Roman Reigns about the Netflix deal that see WWE Raw join the platform in 2025.
In January 2024, WWE announced that Raw will be moving to Netflix in January 2025.
TKO executive Mark Shapiro has recently discussed how the deal between WWE and Netflix came together.
Speaking at Bloomberg’s Power Players Summit, Roman Reigns discussed the significance of the deal, saying:
I think this is the biggest deal of
all time to be honest. But the thing that changes the landscape for us, is that we’ve been on linear television for decades now, and we’ve been the leaders of that episodically, so to take our
program and put it on a streaming
network like Netflix, it’s just unheard of.
To go all the way back through
our history, to see where we are now
and the growth that we have, really
since 2020 when the world was upside
down, is amazing. So it’s a big opportunity for us to not only showcase our product but just what we’ve mastered with live television.”
Triple H reacted to Roman Reigns comments on Twitter, noting the importance of Reigns and Paul Heyman, writing:
The impact that generational
Superstars like @WWERomanReigns,
and brilliant minds
like@HeymanHustle, have had on
our business is truly immeasurable.
“@WWE is always looking towar
what’s next…and what’s next will be
special.”
During the Power Players event, Reigns also discussed the potential of ‘edgier’ content when Raw moves to Netflix.
Paul Heyman would also praise the quality of the current WWE women’s roster during the interview.
